Light Gauge Steel Framing — often referred to as LGSF or a Steel Framing System (SFS) — has become one of the most advanced and reliable structural systems in modern construction. A Steel Framing System (SFS) is a structural system built from cold-rolled, galvanised steel sections that are manufactured off-site to exact tolerances and assembled into panels, walls, floors and roof structures. LGSF is the most common form of SFS used across UK residential and commercial construction. The two terms are used interchangeably throughout the industry: LGSF describes the material and gauge, while SFS describes the complete system and its method of construction.
